Paralympic Sport TV is covering a number of the sports. Currently, you can watch the opening ceremonies, along with the 91,000 spectators who were at the much acclaimed Bird's Nest venue earlier today in Beijing.

Their site is optimized for MSIE, but those on Firefox should be fine (that's what I'm watching it on now, and it only required a few extra clicks).

Canada, of course, as at the Olympics, does not appear in alphabetical order... at least, not based on our alphabet. The order of appearance of most of the teams is based on the number of strokes in the first "letter" in the Chinese spelling of the name of the country. The host country will appear last. Look for Canada to make its appearance shortly after Lithuania. I saw Fabien and Patrice as they wheeled by, and later on Benoit. Everyone was looking in good spirits!

Here is the CBC schedule for coverage of the Games:

Multi-platform coverage in the United States

Universal Sports, the Beijing 2008 Organizing Committee (BOCOG) and the IPC announced this week an agreement to provide the first-ever multi-platform broadcast coverage of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games in the United States.

The Paralympic Games will be shown in the United States from September 6-17 with daily live and delayed highlight shows on UniversalSports.com.

IPC President Sir Philip Craven said, “We at the International Paralympic Committee welcome this opportunity to expand our audience in the United States, and show what a magnificent event this will be. The Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games are hitting a number of milestones and the broadcasting with Universal Sports will most certainly bring in more Paralympic enthusiasts.”
